PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dominoe Knocks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuya Takeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knocks comes to the cage accompanied by Who's Real - Jadakiss. The key to victory for Dominoe Knocks has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knocks looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Knocks scores with a spinning back kick!
Takeshi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Knocks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Takeshi doesn't manage to clinch there - Knocks circles away.
Knocks shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Takeshi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Knocks as he jumps to the side.
Knocks lands a nice looking kick to the body. Takeshi takes a step back to recover.
Takeshi looks gassed!
Takeshi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Knocks as he avoids it easily.
Takeshi doesn't manage to clinch there - Knocks circles away.

It looks like Kazuya Takeshi has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A left and a right from Takeshi both land. Nice combination.
Knocks lands a glancing blow to the side of Takeshi's head.
Takeshi on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Takeshi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Knocks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Takeshi dodges the punch combination from Knocks.
Knocks bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Takeshi wants to clinch.
Takeshi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Takeshi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dominoe Knocks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazuya Takeshi.
Knocks tries a head kick but it misses.
Takeshi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Knocks stuffs the takedown.
Knocks fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knocks goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Takeshi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Knocks regains half guard there - taking advantage of Takeshi's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Takeshi is pressing down on Knocks's thigh, looking to free his foot. Knocks is holding on for now.

Takeshi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Knocks's head.
Knocks regains full guard. Nicely done.
Takeshi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Takeshi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Takeshi tries to advance to mount but Knocks instead regains half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fighters are battling for position here. Knocks manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Knocks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Knocks working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Takeshi.

Takeshi tries to move into range but Knocks moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Takeshi fails to land with a series of punches.
Takeshi throws a leg kick that is checked
and Knocks counters with a head kick.
Knocks throws a push kick but Takeshi slaps the foot to one side.
Knocks is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Takeshi blocks a head kick by Knocks.
Takeshi throws a lazy right hand but Knocks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Takeshi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Knocks swivels and escapes.
Takeshi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Knocks stuffs the takedown.
Dominoe Knocks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazuya Takeshi.
Takeshi shoots for a double leg takedown but Knocks sprawls well. He's pushed Takeshi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Takeshi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Knocks as he jumps to the side.
Knocks throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Knocks throws a half hearted mid kick.
Knocks misses with a few strikes there.
Takeshi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Knocks paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Takeshi moves in looking to clinch but Knocks pushes him off.
Takeshi moves out of range of the strikes.
Knocks looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Takeshi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Knocks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Takeshi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Takeshi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Knocks to his feet.

Takeshi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Takeshi stalling away here and it's allowed Knocks to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Takeshi looking to sit in guard and control but Knocks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Knocks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Knocks throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Takeshi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Takeshi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Knocks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Takeshi doesn't manage to clinch there - Knocks circles away.

Takeshi is looking to take a break and control but Knocks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Takeshi cracks Knocks with a big right hand but Knocks just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Kazuya Takeshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

A head kick lands from Knocks that sends Takeshi to the canvas. Takeshi tries to scramble back to his feet but Knocks brings him back down into side control.

Knocks throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Takeshi works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Knocks thows a huge punch but Takeshi dodges it nicely.

Takeshi makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Knocks throws the kick towards the body but Takeshi avoids it.
Takeshi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knocks.
Knocks throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


That has opened up Kazuya Takeshi's cut even more.
Knocks walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Knocks takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Takeshi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Takeshi fails to land the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Knocks as Takeshi shoots in.
Takeshi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Knocks fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Takeshi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Knocks counters with a stiff right hand.

Takeshi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knocks sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Takeshi somewhat.
Dominoe Knocks is winning the standup battle so far.
Takeshi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Knocks sprawls well. Knocks wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Takeshi gets slowly back to his feet.
Knocks throws a nice head kick!
Takeshi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Knocks but Knocks pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Takeshi takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Takeshi misses with a body punch
and Knocks counters with a body kick.
Knocks tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takeshi was well out of range. Poor timing from Knocks.
Takeshi shoots in looking for a takedown. Knocks tries to sprawl out of it but Takeshi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Knocks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Knocks is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Knocks lands a high kick!

No luck for Takeshi with that takedown attempt.
Knocks lands with a slapping head kick.
Kazuya Takeshi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Takeshi looks for a takedown but Knocks sprawls well.
Knocks throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Takeshi forces Knocks back against the cage and clinches.
Knocks is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Takeshi breaks the clinch.
Knocks lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Takeshi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Takeshi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
