Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frodo Baggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Kidman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jens Kidman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kidman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Baggins swivels and escapes. Baggins scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Jens Kidman has been cut. Baggins is looking to clinch but Kidman is avoiding it.
Nice defenses there by Baggins. A nice inside leg kick there by Kidman. That's going to slow Baggins down. Baggins lands a nice shot to the body.

Kidman won't be happy with that. Baggins goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kidman rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Baggins's guard! Nice work there by Kidman! Baggins keeping moving, preventing Kidman from controlling successfully. Kidman wants to pass the guard but Baggins is keeping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Baggins tries to get out of the position. Kidman stopping the sweep attempt from Baggins. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kidman wants to control from the top but Baggins keeps moving. Kidman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Baggins kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jens Kidman was stalling too much, according to the referee. Baggins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kidman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kidman with a lazy takedown attempt and Baggins counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kidman's guard now. Kidman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Baggins's guard. Kidman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Baggins keeping moving, preventing Kidman from controlling successfully.

Kidman passes easily into side control. Nice work. Kidman is looking to take a break and control but Baggins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kidman fails with the takedown and Baggins counters with a left and a right that stings Kidman. Baggins tries to clinch up but Kidman circles away and keeps his distance. Baggins lands the left hand. Baggins throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Kidman avoids a lazy jab quite easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kidman has his takedown stuffed and Baggins counters with a series of strikes. Kidman will be more careful next time no doubt. Baggins closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That has opened up Jens Kidman's cut even more. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baggins goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Baggins bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Kidman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Baggins swings around for an armbar but Kidman sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Baggins's guard. Kidman postures up in Baggins's guard and throws a big left but Baggins blocks it. Baggins is trying to hold Kidman in close to prevent damage but Kidman has managed to pass into half guard.
Kidman winds up and cracks Baggins with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidman works his way into full mount! Kidman looking to control but Baggins is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Baggins tries to hold on but Kidman pushes him away. Kidman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Baggins working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidman looking to control but Baggins is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kidman avoids the attempt from Baggins to control. Jens Kidman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Baggins is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kidman postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Baggins looks a forlorn figure.
