Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Paul Bostik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Paul Bostik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Jones! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bostik shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bostik is being controlled here. Bostik is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Jones cracks Bostik with an elbow. That is naaassty. Jones tries to score with some ground and pound. Bostik controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Jones tries for a kimura but Bostik is defending well. Jones throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bostik works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bostik blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones. Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Jones takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Bostik is looking to escape. Jones content to control rather than advance. Jones is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Bostik looking for a sweep. Not yet Bostik, not yet. Jones postures up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Michael Jones hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bostik tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bostik uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.

Bostik tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bostik gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bostik swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bostik can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bostik is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jones scores with a couple of nice shots. Jones is taking a breather. Bostik says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Bostik on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Bostik blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones. Bostik tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily and Jones counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Jones misses with a body shot.
Jones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bostik's half guard. Bostik blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones. Bostik is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jones wants to take a breather but Bostik is having none of it. Jones drops an elbow to the side of Bostik's head. Bostik on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jones controlling the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bostik pushes Jones off looking to stand but Jones dives back in and keeps control.
Bostik is trying to control but can't.
Jones looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bostik is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard. Bostik is looking to improve his position.
Jones content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Jones has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bostik closes the distance looking to clinch letting Jones counter with a right hand. Bostik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bostik is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jones slows the pace down in half guard. Jones trying to mount his opponent but Bostik defends it. Bostik wants to get back to full guard but Jones has mounted him!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones dominating with strikes here. Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bostik is looking to escape. Jones scoring with strikes but Bostik is staying in there. A nice elbow there by Jones. Jones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Jones is in the full mount, landing strikes. BOOM! Jones connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones working away from the top, dropping strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones avoids the attempt from Bostik to control. Jones punishing his opponent with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Jones stalling away here and it's allowed Bostik to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Bostik is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Jones wants to pass the guard but Bostik is keeping the position. Bostik keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Bostik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones scores with punches from side control. Bostik takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bostik tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position. Jones cracks Bostik with a big right hand but Bostik just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jones lands an elbow. Bostik gets back to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall. Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bostik is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard. John Paul Bostik has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Michael Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bostik actively working from the bottom here.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
