The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
stan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Miller sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Miller stuffs the takedown.
stan shoots in but no luck this time.
Marcus Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of paul stan.
stan misses with a takedown attempt - Miller sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Miller looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Miller keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
stan is looking for a sweep. Miller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Miller seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Marcus Miller wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Miller closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. stan did well to prevent Miller getting side control.
Miller content to control rather than advance.
Miller is trying to work for a kimura but stan is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

stan wants to hold on but Miller pushes him away.
stan reaches up to try and control the position but Miller seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! stan rolls and tries to escape and now Miller has his back!
Miller is working for a rear naked choke. stan is not defending it well and Miller has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! stan refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of stan's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Marcus Miller!
