Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ken Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eryk Bartnik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Gunner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eryk Bartnik!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunner swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Gunner closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gunner looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Bartnik looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Gunner has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gunner controlling the position easily from mount.
Bartnik can't escape the position.

Bartnik is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bartnik is trying to escape the mount.
Gunner can't control as he wanted to and Bartnik manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Bartnik is in trouble now - Gunner has advanced to mount!
Gunner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gunner wants to control the pace but Bartnik is squirming around nicely.
Bartnik is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Gunner jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bartnik manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gunner controls the position.
Bartnik is looking to reverse the position.

Gunner decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Eryk Bartnik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Some wild striking there from Bartnik.
Gunner slips a jab and a cross from Bartnik.

Gunner shoots in and bounces Bartnik off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gunner postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Gunner distracts Bartnik with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Gunner is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bartnik will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bartnik gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gunner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bartnik can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gunner controls the pace.

Gunner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bartnik napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Gunner is staying tight to Bartnik's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Bartnik tries to bench press Gunner off him but Gunner keeps the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gunner content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Bartnik is looking for a sweep.
Gunner wants to control but Bartnik is keeping him busy.
Gunner remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Gunner is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Gunner could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bartnik is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gunner pulls his head out easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Well, if Gunner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Bartnik lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bartnik.

Gunner closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Gunner has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bartnik uses from the top position.

Gunner is trying to control. Bartnik wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Gunner moves into full mount! Bartnik won't be happy about that!

Gunner is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bartnik has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Bartnik has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Gunner escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Gunner!

Well Gunner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
