Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Filitov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bal David!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Filitov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Filitov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. David did well to prevent Filitov getting side control.
David regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Filitov.
Filitov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Filitov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Filitov throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
David avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Filitov has gone for a leg lock! David slips out almost immediately though and dives into Filitov's guard.
Filitov tries to land a sweep but no joy.
David drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and David jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
David stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Filitov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
David is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Filitov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for David!
Filitov is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Filitov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. David is trying to defend but Filitov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Filitov throws a strike but David avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Filitov advances to half guard.
David is trying to stand up here but Filitov is controlling him well.
Filitov with the ground and pound but David uses the opportunity to regain guard.
David looks gassed!
Filitov passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Filitov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
David managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Filitov.

Filitov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by David, who protects the arm well.
Filitov has worked his way into a potential kimura here. David is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Filitov yanks on the arm and David is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Filitov.
