Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Willy Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Hawthorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawthorn is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sam & Dave - Soul Man. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Willy Pete! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Hawthorn! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pete misses with a wild body shot. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hawthorn. Hawthorn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pete tries to avoid it but Hawthorn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pete to the ground. Pete escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pete stuffs the takedown. Willy Pete has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Hawthorn. Hawthorn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pete tries to score with a low kick but Hawthorn moves his leg out of the way. Pete darts in and out, connecting with a jab. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hawthorn is defended easily by Pete. Hawthorn tries to close the distance and clinch but Pete swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hawthorn misses with a takedown attempt - Pete sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pete fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Horrible takedown by Hawthorn or perhaps it was just good defense by Pete which made him look bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawthorn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pete sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hawthorn somewhat. A shot to the liver by Pete. Beautiful body shot. Pete tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hawthorn was well out of range. Poor timing from Pete. Pete scores with a body shot.
Pete turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Hawthorn looks gassed! Pete scores with a jab to the body. Pete lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Pete will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hawthorn fails with a takedown attempt. Pete lands a nice looking body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice uppercut there from Pete. Pete is looking to wear down Hawthorn with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Hawthorn takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Willy Pete is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pete stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pete wants it to stay on the feet. Pete lands a right hook to the body.
Pete cracks Hawthorn with a good jab. Pete clobbers Hawthorn with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Pete jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Pete misses with a wild combination.
Pete scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Pete lands the left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pete scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hawthorn is rocked! Pete walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hawthorn checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Hawthorn is still on wobbly legs! Can Pete finish him? Pete lands with a good body shot. Hawthorn seems to have recovered his senses. Hawthorn takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pete is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Pete turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Pete thuds his right hand into Hawthorn's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Pete steps in with a hook that catches Hawthorn right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Pete follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Hawthorn looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Willy Pete! Willy Pete retains his welterweight title!
