The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klimera stuffs the takedown. Klimera misses with a takedown and Layfield counters with a shoot takedown. Klimera fights it but they end up in guard. Layfield is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Klimera is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Layfield is controlling him. Klimera can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Layfield controls the pace. Klimera wants to get back to his feet but Layfield is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Layfield sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Klimera's guard. Layfield looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mark Layfield just wasn't active enough. Klimera doesn't succeed with the takedown and Layfield counters with a nice double leg into side control. Klimera won't be happy with that. Layfield moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Klimera is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The referee asks Layfield politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Layfield prefers to stall for the moment though.

And that's the end of the fight! Mark Layfield showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Layfield, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
