Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vengar Bengar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Diebler! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diebler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bengar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diebler somewhat. Jon Diebler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diebler shoots in but no luck this time. Nice takedown defense from Bengar. No joy for Diebler on that attempt. Vengar Bengar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Diebler. Good leg kick by Bengar there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bengar throws a body kick that misses. Diebler shoots in looking for a takedown. Bengar tries to sprawl out of it but Diebler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bengar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bengar throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Diebler bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Diebler working the ground and pound but Bengar is defending the strikes. Diebler is trying to ground and pound but Bengar uses the momentary lack of control by Diebler to regain half guard. Bengar tries to roll over but Diebler keeps him under control. Diebler looks to land a strike but Bengar avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Diebler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Diebler is looking to work some ground and pound but Bengar has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diebler throws a strike but Bengar rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Diebler tries to strike from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Diebler throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bengar escapes and throws Diebler's legs to the side, diving into side control! Bengar trying to control the action but Diebler is working from the bottom. Bengar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Diebler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Diebler tries to improve position but can't. Diebler gets back to half guard. Diebler misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Diebler is trying to control Bengar's posture but Bengar avoids it. Diebler is looking for a sweep. Bengar blocks the strikes from Diebler.

Bengar is really struggling to control Diebler but he's trying to hold on to the position. Diebler tries to lock up and control but Bengar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bengar lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Diebler drives through with a takedown into guard. Diebler throws a strike but Bengar rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Bengar looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Diebler looking to control but Bengar passes into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Diebler can do anything to dispel that myth. Diebler tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Bengar has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Diebler is squirming around, avoiding Bengar's attempts to control the action.

Diebler bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Diebler thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Bengar trying to control the position from guard on top but Diebler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diebler is trying to control the position but Bengar postures up. Diebler is striking but Bengar is not phased and passes to half guard. Bengar is trying to control the action in half guard but Diebler is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bengar passes to full mount! Diebler slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diebler is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bengar pulls his head out easily. Bengar content to control rather than advance. Diebler punching from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Diebler is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Bengar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diebler keeps working. Diebler is looking for a sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Vengar Bengar will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Diebler shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bengar is trying to defend but Diebler finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Diebler drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bengar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Diebler has Bengar in his guard. Diebler will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

And that's the end of the fight! Vengar Bengar showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bengar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
