Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Helio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximus Scott is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Scott.
Scott scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Gracie tries to clinch but Scott is having none of it.
Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Gracie wants to clinch up but Scott keeps it at a distance.
Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scott.
Scott scores with a body shot.
Scott throws a low kick but Gracie avoids it.
Gracie takes a jab right on the kisser.
Scott throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and moves out of range.
Good leg kick by Scott there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gracie checks a leg kick.
Gracie swings for the body but Scott moves out of range.

and Gracie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Scott.
Gracie drives through and clinches with Scott against the cage.
Scott throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Gracie goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Scott is trying to break the clinch but Gracie is controlling him.

Gracie clinches up with Scott and pushes him back against the cage.
Gracie is pushing Scott up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Gracie keeps control of Scott as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Scott lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gracie backwards.
Scott has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Gracie cracks Scott with a nice body shot.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Gracie as Scott tries to tie him up.
Scott is trying to break the clinch but Gracie has him pressed against the cage.
Scott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Scott's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gracie connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Scott scrambles back to his feet.

Gracie lands a right hand that snaps the head of Scott backwards.

Gracie moves in looking to clinch but Scott pushes him off.

and Scott takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Maximus Scott has been cut.
Scott circles away from the clinch attempt.

Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Scott moves away.

and Gracie counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Gracie lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scott swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Scott throws a solid leg kick but Gracie takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Scott.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Maximus Scott seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Gracie wants to clinch
and Scott counters with a slapping leg kick.
Scott throws a sloppy body shot
and Gracie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Scott counters with a good low kick that Gracie was not able to check.

and Scott counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Gracie counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gracie.

Scott tries a knee to the head but Gracie blocks it.

Scott throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Scott turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Gracie moves out of range of the body kick from Scott.
Maximus Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Scott lands with a kick to the temple. Gracie shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Scott does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Scott scores with a kick to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scott.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Scott in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Scott is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Gracie rather than just go for the knockout.

Gracie pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Scott lands a head kick. Gracie smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Scott lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
Scott connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Scott lands with an uppercut that bounces Gracie off the cage and back into rage.
Gracie is rocked!
Scott finds Gracie's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Gracie flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Scott lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Gracie will be OK.
