PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rex Parker has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rex Parker seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Scott!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker throws a shot to the body.
Parker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott.
Parker checks a leg kick.
Scott misses with a double jab
and Parker counters with a body kick that stops Scott in his tracks momentarily.
Parker with a nice cross.
Scott swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Parker counters with a nice uppercut.
Parker lands a jab-cross combination.
Parker moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Scott lands a high kick!


It looks like Rex Parker has been cut.
Scott thows a body shot but no joy.
Parker connects with a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Parker staying out of range there.
Parker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Scott showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Parker.
Parker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Parker scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Walter Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Parker lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Scott takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Parker lands with a nice body kick.
Scott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Parker lands a really nice looking cross but Scott seems unphased.
Parker darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Parker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Scott is looking to clinch but Parker is avoiding it.
Parker avoids the head kick by Scott.
Scott looks gassed!
Parker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Scott counters with a stiff right hand.

Scott closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parker works his way to full guard. Good work.
Parker wants to stand up but Scott is controlling him.
Parker keeping moving, preventing Scott from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Parker trying to control the position.
Scott won't allow Parker to get back to his feet.
Parker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Parker throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Poor strikes thrown by Parker there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Parker looking to land elbow strikes but Scott uses the position to regain half guard.
Parker is trying to control the action in half guard but Scott is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Parker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Scott doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Parker.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Parker in particular looking to stall.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parker connects with a nice short shot to Scott's temple.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Parker passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Scott!
Parker tries to control but Scott wriggling away.
Parker throws a wild left hand from mount and Scott manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Parker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Scott's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Parker looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Parker missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rex Parker dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rex Parker's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Parker jabs Scott right on the nose. Scott blinks but takes it well.
Parker throws a sloppy head kick and Scott moves out of range easily.
Scott with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Parker to score with a decent uppercut.
Scott throws a combination that misses
enabling Parker to counter with a crisp jab.
Rex Parker is winning the standup battle so far.
Scott throws a leg kick but Parker checks it.
Parker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Good standup being displayed there by Parker as he connects with a hook.
Scott misses with a double jab
and Parker counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A shot to the liver by Parker. Beautiful body shot.
Scott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Scott misses with a kick to the body.
Parker pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Scott back to the cage. Parker follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Scott throws a leg kick
and Parker counters with a one-two to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Parker tests Scott's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rex Parker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Scott is breathing heavily.
Parker is looking to land body kicks.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A thudding body kick lands there by Parker!
Parker stuns Scott with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nice jab there from Parker.
Nice shot lands for Parker.


Scott is rocked!
Parker Throws a clean left jab. Parker Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Scott's chin! Scott crumbles to the ground and Parker follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Parker!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rex Parker!
