Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tonichie Hong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Howland Reed!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Reed checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Hong uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Reed.

Reed lands a jab to the head.
Hong takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Reed digs a right hand underneath Hong's ribcage. Hong let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Reed blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Reed misses with the head strike.
Hong goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hong swings wildly with an uppercut but Reed uses good head movement to avoid it.
Reed lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hong backwards.

Reed tries to throw a body punch but Hong avoids it by throwing Reed back against the cage.
Reed makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Hong breaks the clinch.
Hong looks to score with a jab to the body but Reed is just out of range.
Hong throws a leg kick that is checked
enabling Reed to counter with a crisp jab.
Reed misses with a hook
and Hong counters with a right hand to the body.
Reed misses with a series of wild punches.
Reed slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hong throws a series of punches but Reed avoids them all with ease.
Reed throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hong counters with a big head kick but Reed shrugs it off.
Reed throws a right hand that misses
and Hong counters with a big head kick but Reed shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hong steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Reed.
Hong finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Reed lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Hong throws a punch but it's blocked by Reed.

Hong lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Reed or not.

A frustrated look appears on Hong's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hong looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Hong digs a right hand underneath Reed's ribcage. Reed let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Hong tries to throw a body punch but Reed avoids it by throwing Hong back against the cage.

Hong tries a body shot but Reed blocks it.
Hong lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Reed or not.
Reed lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Hong breaks the clinch.
Reed feints a jab promting Hong to slip. Reed then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hong slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Tonichie Hong has been cut.
Reed misses with a looping left.
Hong throws the left hand but Reed avoids the punch easily.

Hong moves into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Reed.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Reed scores with a nice strike.
Reed throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hong clobbers Reed with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hong throws a wild body kick that Reed sees coming a mile off.
Reed throws a looping overhand right but Hong ducks down to avoid it.
Reed misses with an uppercut
and Hong counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Reed looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hong on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Reed gets tackled into the cage by Hong. Hong maintains the clinch.
Reed throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hongs head.
Reed lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A right hook to the body lands for Hong.
Hong lands a left hand that snaps the head of Reed backwards.
Reed works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Hong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tonichie Hong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hong ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tonichie Hong will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Tonichie Hong's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hong tries to work over Reed's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hong cracks Reed with a nice body shot.
A right hand to the body from Reed.
Reed misses with a short punch on the inside.
Reed is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
A hook to the body from Hong.
Hong lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Hong blocks an uppercut.
Reed throws a punch but it's blocked by Hong.
Reed doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Hong lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hong misses with a short punch on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hong.

Reed prevents Hong from breaking the clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Hong.
Hong takes a shot to the head.
Reed working aggressively here.

Hong breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Reed loads up on a big right hand but Hong slips the punch.
Hong gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Reed makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Reed missing with a left hand there. Hong was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Reed thumps Hong with a low kick.
Reed throws a lazy uppercut
and Reed takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Reed lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Hong fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Hong lands a big head kick that sends Reed tumbling to the mat! Hong takes a step backwards and waves Reed back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Reed is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hong closes the distance and pushes Reed back into the cage.
Reed is still on wobbly legs! Can Hong finish him?
Hong unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Reed! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Hong is unloading with more strikes now! Reed drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tonichie Hong!
