Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johann Schwartz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Requina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Requina will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johann Schwartz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Requina! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwartz closes the distance and clinches up with Requina, looking for a takedown. Schwartz pushes Requina against the cage but Requina circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Requina should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Requina tries a head kick but it misses.
Requina dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Schwartz. That did some damage! Schwartz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Requina tries to avoid it but Schwartz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Requina to the ground. Requina escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Requina tries a head kick but it misses.

Schwartz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Requina pinned against the cage. Requina gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johann Schwartz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schwartz shoots for a takedown but Requina saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Requina misses with a head kick.

Schwartz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Schwartz is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Requina is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schwartz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Requina is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schwartz moves nicely into side control. Requina wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Schwartz trying to control the action but Requina is working from the bottom. Schwartz tries for a kimura but Requina is defending well. Schwartz is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Requina is trying to escape and Schwartz transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Requina is forced to tap! Nice work there by Schwartz! Very nice indeed!
