Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Lakanik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen wolf pack as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lakanik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Denton Jackson! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lakanik pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Lakanik misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lakanik has his takedown stuffed and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Lakanik pushes him off. Lakanik throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lakanik off to one side. Jackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lakanik. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Lakanik. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lakanik gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jackson counters with a stiff right hand. A head kick by Lakanik misses and Jackson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Lakanik fails with the takedown and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lakanik won't be happy with that. Lakanik tries to improve position but can't. Jackson cracks Lakanik with a big elbow. Lakanik knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lakanik dodges the ground and pound from Jackson. Jackson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Jackson lands an elbow. Lakanik is trying to improve his position. Lakanik is working hard here to advance position. Jackson wants to control for a moment but Lakanik uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Jackson moves into full mount! Lakanik won't be happy about that!

That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lakanik working to try and regain half guard.
Lakanik tries to hold on but Jackson postures up. Jackson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lakanik is now in Jackson's guard. A big mistake from Jackson there, giving up the dominant position! Lakanik thows a big elbow that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lakanik would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Lakanik got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! And that's the end of the fight! Denton Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
