Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Theo Rockwell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Penn! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rockwell tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rockwell tries to clinch but Penn moves away and Penn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rockwell darts in trying to clinch and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Theo Rockwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rockwell darts in trying to clinch and Penn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rockwell tries to clinch up and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Rockwell tries to clinch but fails miserably and Penn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rockwell misses with a takedown and Rockwell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rockwell doesn't succeed with the takedown and Penn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rockwell tries to clinch up and Penn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rockwell tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Penn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rockwell closes the distance but Penn moves to the side and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Rockwell moves to clinch but Penn breaks away and Penn counters with a stiff right hand. Penn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rockwell with a lazy takedown attempt and Penn counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Rockwell down! Penn is looking to finish but Rockwell is intelligently defending himself.
Rockwell is rocked! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Theo Rockwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn stands up from Rockwell's guard - Penn perhaps looking for a knockout. Oh Rockwell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Penn lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Penn. Rockwell wants to clinch enabling Penn to counter with a crisp jab. Rockwell seems to have got his legs back now. Rockwell doesn't succeed with the takedown and Penn counters with a three punch combo that has Rockwell backing up. Rockwell nods at Penn to acknowledge the strikes. Rockwell is breathing heavily. Rockwell moves to clinch but Penn breaks away and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rockwell tries to clinch but Penn moves away and Penn counters with a left and a right... And another left! Rockwell is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
