Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Waldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukus Haas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haas is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Drowning Pool's Bodies. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Waldo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lukus Haas! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crunch! Waldo slams his shin into Haas's torso. A head kick misses from Waldo. Nice sprawl there from Waldo as Haas shoots in. Waldo scores a takedown into full mount! Haas is working to get back to half guard.
Waldo tries to control but Haas wriggling away. Haas is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Haas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Waldo working away from the top, dropping strikes. Haas tries to hold on but Waldo pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haas tries to get back to half guard but can't. Haas in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Waldo wants to control the pace but Haas is squirming around nicely. Haas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Waldo looking to control but Haas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Haas really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Haas is squirming around, avoiding Waldo's attempts to control the action. Waldo is breathing heavily. Haas tries to get back to half guard but can't. Haas gets back to half guard. Haas wants to control but Waldo is keeping busy.
Waldo throws a strike but Haas avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Haas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Haas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Waldo's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Waldo trying to keep a closed guard but Haas is proving a slippery customer.
Waldo pushes Haas off and scrambles back to his feet.
Haas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Waldo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Haas's guard now. Haas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Waldo controls the pace. Haas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Waldo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Haas working a defensive guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Haas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Waldo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. This has been an exciting period of action! Waldo preventing the sweep. Waldo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Haas looking to control.
Haas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Waldo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Waldo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Haas keeping moving, preventing Waldo from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lukus Haas will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Haas misses with a takedown attempt and Waldo counters with a single leg into guard. Haas didn't expect that. Waldo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Haas keeping moving, preventing Waldo from controlling successfully. Waldo prevents Haas from getting back to his feet. Waldo is pushing down on Haas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Haas is fighting to maintain full guard but Waldo has managed to sneak the leg through. Waldo not doing much here.
Haas wants to get back to full guard. Waldo wants to free his trapped foot but Haas is holding on for dear life with his legs. Waldo is figuring out what he wants to do next. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haas is refusing to be controlled, as Waldo sits in half guard. Waldo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Haas regains full guard. Nicely done. Waldo won't allow Haas to sweep him here. Haas pulls Waldo in to control the position. Waldo looking to sit in guard and control but Haas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Haas thows a big elbow that misses. Waldo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Waldo working a defensive guard here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Haas fails with the takedown and Waldo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Haas's guard now. Waldo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Waldo shoots in looking for a takedown. Haas tries to sprawl out of it but Waldo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Haas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Waldo has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haas jumps guard but Waldo stands there with Haas around his waist. Haas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Chris Waldo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lukus Haas. Haas keeps control of Waldo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Haas landing knees to the body.
Haas is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Waldo pulls him back up using the underhooks. A short right from Haas. Haas wants the takedown. Waldo is fighting it off but Haas persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Waldo's guard against the cage. Haas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Waldo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Waldo has escaped and now he's on top! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Waldo manages to get himself to full guard.
Haas scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Haas trying to control but Waldo is working from the bottom. Waldo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Waldo's guard. Haas wants to pass to mount but Waldo is defending the position. Waldo wants to get back to full guard. Waldo wants to get back to his feet. Waldo is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Waldo manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Haas wants to control from the top but Waldo keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Waldo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Haas manages to get himself to full guard.
Waldo is looking to work some ground and pound but Haas has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Waldo reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Waldo taps out! nice BJJ there by Haas!
