Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Bennett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Julio Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Horrible takedown by Sanchez or perhaps it was just good defense by Bennett which made him look bad. Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown. Bennett tries to sprawl out of it but Sanchez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bennett manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Matt Bennett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julio Sanchez. Bennett scores with a hook. A jab from Bennett misses. Sanchez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bennett. Sanchez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bennett. Sanchez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sanchez shoots for a double leg takedown but Bennett sprawls well. He's pushed Sanchez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bennett swinging wildly here.

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bennett sprawls well. Bennett wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet. Bennett swinging wildly here.

Bennett lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Sanchez walks into a jab. Sanchez looks for a takedown but Bennett sprawls well. Bennett throws a good cross that connects.

Bennett fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Sanchez shoots in and drives through. Bennett sprawls well. Sanchez looks gassed! Bennett scores with a kick to the body.
Bennett bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sanchez's head backwards. Jab by Bennett. Bennett connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Sanchez tumbling to the canvas! Bennett pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Sanchez was done - good stoppage!
