The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Horrible takedown by Sanchez or perhaps it was just good defense by Bennett which made him look bad.
Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown. Bennett tries to sprawl out of it but Sanchez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bennett manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Matt Bennett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julio Sanchez.

Bennett bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sanchez's head backwards.

Bennett connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Sanchez tumbling to the canvas! Bennett pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Sanchez was done - good stoppage!
