Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between BAMMER VERA CRUZ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rui Boia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rui Boia told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
VERA CRUZ tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Boia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Boia counters with a head kick. That will keep VERA CRUZ thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Boia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Boia drops back looking for a leg! VERA CRUZ is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and VERA CRUZ manages to kick Boia off! Boia jumps back into VERA CRUZ's guard.
Boia throws a strike but VERA CRUZ rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
VERA CRUZ stops Boia from standing up.

Boia is looking to sinch up a triangle. VERA CRUZ throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Boia's body to avoid the submission. Boia has instead reached around VERA CRUZ's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Boia arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
