Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Chilavert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lone Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Chilavert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lone Ryder!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Chilavert misses.
Chilavert tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horrible takedown by Ryder or perhaps it was just good defense by Chilavert which made him look bad.
No luck for Ryder with that takedown attempt.
Chilavert closes the distance and clinches up with Ryder, looking for a takedown. Chilavert pushes Ryder against the cage but Ryder circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Chilavert changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ryder looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Chilavert decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ryder to his feet.
Chilavert displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ryder.
Jose Chilavert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lone Ryder.
Chilavert tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ryder manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ryder shoots in for a takedown but Chilavert shows good takedown defense.
Chilavert avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

It looks like Jose Chilavert has been cut.
Chilavert leaves Ryder with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chilavert tries to clinch but Ryder is having none of it.
Chilavert lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ryder circles away quickly and effectively.

Ryder closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Chilavert to the mat! Chilavert manages to get full guard.

Ryder wants to stand but Chilavert has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chilavert is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Chilavert is breathing heavily.

Chilavert uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ryder shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chilavert but Chilavert pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ryder lands a jab to Chilavert's midsection.

The fight stays on the outside here - Chilavert looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ryder stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ryder stalks Chilavert and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Chilavert's face. Chilavert staggers backwards, shaken.
Ryder tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chilavert swivels and escapes.
Nice takedown defense from Chilavert. No joy for Ryder on that attempt.

Ryder scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ryder is looking to advance position but Chilavert won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chilavert tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryder content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ryder wants to work for an arm triangle but Chilavert is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lone Ryder dominated that round.

That's time! Chilavert's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ryder wants to clinch.
Ryder tries a head kick but it misses.

Ryder closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chilavert connects with a knee to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ryder goes for a takedown attempt but Chilavert pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ryder shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chilavert as he avoids it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryder wants to control from the top but Chilavert keeps moving.
Ryder is looking to work some ground and pound but Chilavert has wrist control.

Ryder must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ryder wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Chilavert is trying to drag Ryder to the mat but Ryder just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ryder wants to get back to striking at distance but Chilavert won't allow it.
Ryder jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chilavert walks away with a smile on his face. Ryder gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ryder fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ryder.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ryder dives in and grabs Chilavert's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chilavert pushes down on Ryder's head and hops out.
No luck for Chilavert with that takedown attempt.

Ryder won't let Chilavert get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Chilavert avoids a series of strikes thrown by Ryder.
Chilavert is working to get back to half guard.
Ryder content just to control the position here.
Ryder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chilavert. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ryder is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Chilavert has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Chilavert!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lone Ryder was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Ryder moves into the clinch.
Ryder tries to pull guard but Chilavert won't allow it.
Ryder tries to break free but Chilavert pushes him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Lone Ryder.
I think Ryder has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
