Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lafon Bornay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Palakiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palakiko has chosen The Wave as his entrance music. John Palakiko will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bornay tries to clinch but Palakiko is having none of it. Palakiko closes the distance but Bornay moves to the side and Bornay counters by clinching up. Bornay pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Palakiko fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bornay gets underhooks to prevent Palakiko's takedown attempt.
Palakiko tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lafon Bornay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Palakiko. Bornay is pressed up against the cage. Palakiko has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bornay down to the mat. Bornay avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Palakiko wants to clinch and Bornay counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Palakiko lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Palakiko throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Palakiko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Palakiko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Palakiko seems to be looking for submissions.
Bornay wants to get back to his feet. Palakiko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bornay is not content to let Palakiko control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palakiko is looking for a kimura but Bornay is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Palakiko to get the leverage. Palakiko takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Palakiko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Palakiko sitting and controlling from the half guard. Palakiko trying to control from half guard but Bornay is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Palakiko is trying to work for a kimura but Bornay is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Palakiko dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Bornay wants to clinch up but Palakiko keeps it at a distance. Bornay has Palakiko up against the cage in a clinch.
Bornay comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Palakiko has Bornay pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bornay manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Palakiko misses with an elbow strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palakiko tries to score a body lock takedown but Bornay shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Bornay lands an elbow just above Palakiko 's eye. Nice elbow from Bornay.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Lafon Bornay. Bornay closes the distance and clinches. Bornay's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Palakiko goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bornay prevents it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Palakiko has had enough of the clinch but Bornay keeps him there for the moment. Bornay stops a takedown attempt from Palakiko.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bornay takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Bornay misses with an elbow strike.

Bornay will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Palakiko up against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Palakiko takes an elbow to the temple. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Palakiko jumps guard and drags Bornay to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Bornay would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Palakiko lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bornay!
And that's the end of the fight! Lafon Bornay showed his dominance in that final round. I think Bornay has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
