Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mathew Briar!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francisco circles away from the clinch attempt.
Briar tries to clinch there but Francisco circles away.

Francisco shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Francisco seems to be looking for submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Francisco is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Briar is surviving well by controlling Francisco 's body position as best he can.
Francisco will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Francisco is looking for the choke from the back position but Briar is controlling his hands well.

Briar is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Francisco gets his way!
Francisco has the hooks in. Briar is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Francisco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Francisco is looking for the choke from the back position but Briar is controlling his hands well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Briar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Francisco 's guard.
Briar throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Briar is trying to control the action in half guard but Francisco is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Briar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Briar looking to improve position, pressing down on Francisco 's thigh with his hand. Francisco seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Briar paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Briar's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Francisco picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
