Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kris Kringle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cyril Kivel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Kringle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cyril Kivel!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kivel slaps away a takedown attempt from Kringle, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kivel finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kivel is looking to score with low kicks.
Kivel misses with a double jab.
Kringle lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Cyril Kivel has been cut.
Kivel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kringle counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kivel throws a series of strikes that have Kringle backpedaling.


It looks like Kris Kringle has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kivel finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kivel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kringle counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kivel won't be happy with that.
Kivel prevents Kringle from moving into mount.
Kringle laying and praying for a moment but Kivel takes advantage and regains half guard.
Kringle controlling the action here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kivel keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Kringle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kivel keeps working.
Kringle passes the guard and advances to mount!
Kringle throwing strikes but Kivel uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kivel has one foot on Kringle's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Kringle misses with a takedown attempt - Kivel sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cyril Kivel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kivel stuffs the takedown.

and Kringle counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Kringle tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kivel controls his leg.
Kringle winds up and cracks Kivel with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Kringle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kringle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kringle works his way into side control.
Kringle trying to control the action but Kivel is working from the bottom.
The strikes coming from Kringle are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kringle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kivel keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kivel defending against the ground and pound.
Kringle advances to full mount.
Kringle throws some wild stikes that Kivel manages to avoid easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kringle scoring with strikes but Kivel is staying in there.
Kringle content just to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Some wild striking there from Kivel.
Kringle slips a jab from Kivel.
Kivel slaps away a takedown attempt from Kringle, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kringle tries for a takedown but Kivel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kivel tries to clinch but Kringle moves out of range.
Kringle dives in and grabs Kivel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kivel pushes down on Kringle's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kris Kringle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kivel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kringle to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kris Kringle wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Kivel throws a leg kick but Kringle sees it coming and moves out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kringle.
A big right from Kivel misses.
Kringle needs to keep his hands up - Kivel had a free shot at his head there.
Kringle misses with a double jab
and Kivel counters with a two punch combo.
Kringle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kivel as he avoids it easily.

Kivel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kringle, pushing him back against the cage.
Kringle is trying to drag Kivel to the mat but Kivel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Kivel is leaning against Kringle and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Kringle pulls guard successfully.

Kivel gets to his feet - Kringle follows without any prompting.
Kivel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kringle keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Kivel tries to clinch but Kringle moves out of range.
Kivel throws a predictable looking body shot

and Kringle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kringle is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kringle sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kivel's guard.
Kringle tries to pass to full mount but Kivel defends it.
Kivel tries to kick Kringle off but Kringle keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kris Kringle dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kringle lands a head kick. Kivel smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Kringle shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Kivel postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kringle to stand up.
Kivel throws a series of strikes that have Kringle backpedaling.
Nice defenses there by Kringle.
Sloppy strikes from Kringle. Those never looked like landing.
Kivel is looking to clinch but Kringle is avoiding it.
Kivel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kringle.

Kivel lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kivel.
Kringle lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Kringle looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kivel!

Kringle sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Kivel is bucking up trying to escape but Kringle cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kringle lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Kivel hang on?

Kringle has isolated one of Kivel's arms. Kivel looking to fight him off but Kringle twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kris Kringle!
