Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Redfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Evens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evens has chosen lil wayne-6'7 as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Evens!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evens looks to score with a jab to the body but Redfield is just out of range.
Redfield misses with a low kick.
Evens connects with a leg kick. Redfield looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Evens closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Redfield quickly recovers to half guard.
Redfield slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Evens postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Redfield lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Evens!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Redfield shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Evens as he avoids it easily.
Evens lands a nice looking body shot.
Evens ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Redfield takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Evens throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Redfield counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Redfield got a little sloppy there for a moment and Evens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Redfield has managed to get both his arms back between Evens's legs - danger averted.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Evens misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Evens swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Redfield shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Evens defends it nicely.

Redfield wants to clinch up but Evens keeps it at a distance.
Evens goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Redfield has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Evens lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Oh Redfield is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Evens throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Evens looks to score with a jab to the body but Redfield is just out of range.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Redfield.
