Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, James Carrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Bologna!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bologna throws out a loose jab but Carrow uses good head movement to avoid it.

Carrow shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bologna manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Carrow throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Carrow is looking to work some ground and pound but Bologna has wrist control.

Carrow drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bologna dives on top into guard.
Carrow manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Carrow pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Bologna is working to get back to half guard.
You get the feeling that Bologna really doesn't like being in this position too much.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bologna can do anything to dispel that myth.
Carrow sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Bologna avoids a series of strikes thrown by Carrow.
Bologna is looking to improve his position but Carrow isn't that keen on the idea.

Carrow breaks from Bologna's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Carrow prevents Bologna from getting the reversal.
Bologna is bucking up trying to escape but Carrow cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carrow lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bologna wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Carrow.
Carrow unloads with some shots from mount but Bologna bucks and avoids them well.
Bologna takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Bologna tries to hold on but Carrow pushes him away.
Carrow throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Carrow throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Bologna has his hands clasped together but Carrow breaks the hold and Bologna is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Carrow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). James Carrow!
