The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Koukodimos thows a big elbow that misses.

Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Koukodimos swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koukodimos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Koukodimos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Koukodimos is defended easily by Thomas.
Koukodimos sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Charalabos Koukodimos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Llewellyn Thomas.

Thomas lands a good knee to the midsection. Koukodimos won't want to take too many of those.
Koukodimos throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Thomas creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Koukodimos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomas walks away with a smile on his face. Koukodimos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Thomas doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Koukodimos counters with a single leg into guard. Thomas didn't expect that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A head kick misses from Thomas.
Koukodimos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Koukodimos closes the distance and clinches up with Thomas, looking for a takedown. Koukodimos pushes Thomas against the cage but Thomas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thomas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Horrible takedown by Koukodimos or perhaps it was just good defense by Thomas which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charalabos Koukodimos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Koukodimos is trying to control the action in half guard but Thomas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Koukodimos is nestled in close to Thomas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Koukodimos has control of Thomas's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Thomas regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
