Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vladmir Lenin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lenin comes to the cage accompanied by Soviet National Anthem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darren Burns!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lenin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Burns tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lenin is in Burns's guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Vladmir Lenin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Lenin is nestled in close to Burns, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Lenin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burns swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lenin distracts Burns with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Burns wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Lenin is now in half guard.

Lenin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Burns for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lenin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vladmir Lenin.
Well Lenin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
