Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Nino Abbas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Tayeb Taheri!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Taheri quickly recovers to half guard.
Taheri looking for submissions off his back.
Abbas wants to free his trapped foot but Taheri is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Taheri slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Abbas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taheri swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Taheri lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Abbas!
Taheri is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
A head kick misses from Taheri.
Abbas gets caught flat footed, as Taheri shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Abbas has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Taheri has passed into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Taheri tries to move into full mount but can't pass Abbas's legs.
Taheri is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Taheri wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abbas keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taheri is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Abbas looks calm but he's in trouble here. Taheri gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Abbas is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Taheri lets go of the hold and Abbas can pop his arm back in it's socket.
