Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuya Takimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sloat Gresham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sloat Gresham was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tetsuya Takimoto! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sloat Gresham! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takimoto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gresham has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gresham there as he acknowledges the shot. Gresham fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gresham lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Takimoto circles away quickly and effectively. Takimoto looks to throw the jab but Gresham is out of range. Takimoto falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gresham counters with a nice uppercut. Gresham throws a one two combo.
Takimoto on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Gresham misses with a two punch combination.
Gresham fails with a takedown attempt. Gresham uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takimoto. Takimoto scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gresham keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Takimoto. Sloppy strikes from Takimoto. Those never looked like landing. Takimoto cracks Gresham with a good jab. Takimoto connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Gresham tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takimoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Gresham. Takimoto swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gresham counters with a single leg into guard. Takimoto didn't expect that. Gresham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takimoto swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gresham is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gresham trying to control the position from guard on top but Takimoto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gresham not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gresham trying to control but Takimoto is working from the bottom.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Sloat Gresham hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Gresham misses with a wild combination.
Gresham fails with a takedown attempt. Tetsuya Takimoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sloat Gresham. Gresham pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takimoto lands with an overhand left. Takimoto lands a jab to the head.
Gresham throws a combination that misses and Takimoto counters with a left to the body. Gresham uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takimoto. Gresham looks to land a combination but Takimoto avoids it well. Takimoto throws out a loose jab but Gresham uses good head movement to avoid it. Gresham displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Gresham walks into a jab. Takimoto is pawing at Gresham, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Gresham's nose. Gresham is badly hurt! Takimoto pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Gresham tries desperately to hold on but Takimoto is relentless in his assault! As Gresham receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Takimoto away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tetsuya Takimoto! Tetsuya Takimoto retains his featherweight title!
