Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jonas Wenkel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Czar Jack!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack circles away from the clinch attempt.
Good leg kick by Wenkel there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Wenkel tries to land a leg kick but Jack saw it coming and moves away.
Wenkel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jack.

No joy there for Wenkel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looks like Jonas Wenkel has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wenkel tries to close the distance and clinch but Jack swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jack throws a body punch but Wenkel moves out of range.

It looks like Czar Jack has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jack takes a swing at Wenkel's ribcage but misses.

and Wenkel decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jack's guard.

Wenkel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wenkel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jack has momentary wrist control but Wenkel slips an elbow through the middle.

Wenkel is pushing down on Jack's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jack is fighting to maintain full guard but Wenkel has managed to sneak the leg through.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wenkel wants to work for an arm triangle but Jack is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Wenkel is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jack can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Wenkel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jack manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Wenkel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Wenkel is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jack is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Czar Jack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wenkel shoots in looking for a takedown. Jack tries to sprawl out of it but Wenkel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jack manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Wenkel closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jack quickly recovers to half guard.
