1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Galocinza! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andreev tries for a takedown but Galocinza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Galocinza darts in trying to clinch and Andreev counters with a takedown into side control. Andreev wants to control but Galocinza is keeping him busy. Andreev goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Galocinza has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Andreev but great work by Galocinza. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Galocinza makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Galocinza. Andreev postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Galocinza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Andreev, into his guard. Andreev utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Andreev is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Galocinza is stalling in the full guard. Galocinza advances position into side control! Galocinza lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Andreev down.
Galocinza wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Andreev, who protects the arm well. Andreev is being controlled here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Galocinza is trying to ground and pound but Andreev uses the momentary lack of control by Galocinza to regain half guard. Galocinza stands up from half guard. Ricardo Galocinza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Andreev doesn't succeed with the takedown and Galocinza counters with a three punch combo that has Andreev backing up. Andreev nods at Galocinza to acknowledge the strikes. Galocinza closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Andreev quickly recovers to half guard. Galocinza is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Andreev still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Andreev has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Galocinza wants to get back to his feet but Andreev drags him back down. Galocinza struggling a bit here. Galocinza tries to escape but Andreev is in control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Galocinza's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Galocinza throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Galocinza dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nice sprawl there from Andreev as Galocinza shoots in. Galocinza bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Andreev's head backwards. Galocinza throws a head kick but Andreev moves out of range.
Galocinza with a lazy takedown attempt and Andreev counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Andreev won't allow Galocinza to get back to his feet. Galocinza strikes from his own guard. Galocinza bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Andreev's guard. Andreev being controlled here, momentarily. Galocinza loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galocinza gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Andreev with a lazy takedown attempt and Galocinza counters with a three punch combo that has Andreev backing up. Andreev nods at Galocinza to acknowledge the strikes. Galocinza shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Andreev napping and manages to drive through into side control! Andreev can't do much from the bottom here. Galocinza has control of Andreev's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Andreev regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Galocinza has control of Andreev's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Andreev regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Galocinza with a couple of short strikes. Poor strikes thrown by Galocinza there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Ricardo Galocinza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Galocinza scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Nice takedown defense from Andreev. No joy for Galocinza on that attempt. Galocinza changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Andreev looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Andreev managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Galocinza.
Galocinza lands a few punches from side control. Galocinza decides to stand back up. Galocinza steps back and let's Andreev get back to his feet. Galocinza wants to clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Galocinza misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Galocinza stalks Andreev and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Andreev's face. Andreev staggers backwards, shaken. Andreev swats away the attempt to clinch by Galocinza. Galocinza is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Andreev's half guard. Galocinza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Galocinza performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Galocinza not landing any meaningful shots this time. Galocinza is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Galocinza controlling the pace. Galocinza is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Andreev doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Galocinza.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Let's hope that Galocinza has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ricardo Galocinza was stalling too much, according to the referee. Galocinza throws a series of punches but Andreev avoids them all with ease. Andrei Andreev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ricardo Galocinza is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Galocinza shoots in for a takedown but Andreev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricardo Galocinza comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Galocinza has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
