Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arman Dorh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dorh comes to the cage accompanied by Todo poderoso. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arman Dorh!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Alves!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oooh a lovely combination from Dorh sends Alves down but not out. Dorh dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like Frank Alves has been cut.

Dorh wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alves, who protects the arm well.
Dorh controls the position from side control.
Alves prevents Dorh from improving position.
Alves is trying to control Dorh's posture but Dorh avoids it.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Dorh's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Alves is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Alves gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Arman Dorh.
Dorh looks to land a combination but Alves avoids it well.

Alves gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Dorh throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dorh moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Dorh scores with a jab to the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dorh lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Alves with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dorh to score with a decent uppercut.

and Alves counters with a shoot takedown. Dorh fights it but they end up in guard.

Alves stands and throws Dorh's legs to the side, diving into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dorh is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Alves's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Dorh lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Alves sprawling to the canvas. Dorh follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Alves hang on?

Dorh throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Alves steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dorh.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Some wild striking there from Dorh.
Dorh throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dorh jabs at Alves's body.
A combination from Dorh does no damage.
Dorh swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Sloppy strikes from Dorh. Those never looked like landing.
Dorh throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Alves drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dorh preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Dorh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Alves lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Dorh keeping moving, preventing Alves from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Alves wants to pass the guard but Dorh is keeping the position.

and Dorh counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Dorh drops Alves with a left and a right! Oh, Alves is hurt - Dorh dives into side control looking to finish!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dorh is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Alves has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Alves!

Alves throws and elbow that misses. Dorh uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Alves's guard. Nice move by Dorh!

Dorh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alves is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dorh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alves swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Arman Dorh wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jab, jab by Dorh - just one landing.
Dorh throws a series of punches but Alves avoids them all with ease.
Dorh throws a right hand that Alves ducks under and follows up with a left that Alves also avoids with ease.
Alves dodges the punch combination from Dorh.

Dorh stalks Alves and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Alves's face. Alves staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dorh throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alves.
