PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Rasta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bustin Enthamowth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasta comes to the cage accompanied by S.O.S. Bustin Enthamowth will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricky Rasta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bustin Enthamowth!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Enthamowth throws a head kick that misses.
Rasta looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Enthamowth gets the takedown into side control.
Enthamowth slows the pace down.
Enthamowth trying to control the action but Rasta is working from the bottom.
Enthamowth scoring with punches and elbows.
Enthamowth tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Enthamowth cracks Rasta with a big elbow.
Enthamowth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rasta. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Enthamowth connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rasta some visible discomfort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Enthamowth decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rasta to his feet.

Enthamowth fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rasta, pushing him back against the cage.

Enthamowth has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rasta is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Enthamowth pulls guard effortlessly.
Rasta has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Enthamowth is proving hard to escape from.
Enthamowth not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Enthamowth might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rasta kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Rasta looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Rasta takes a decent strike to the side of the head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Enthamowth is looking for a triangle but Rasta pushes his legs off easily.
Rasta wants to stand but Enthamowth is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rasta wants to pass the guard but Enthamowth is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A nice leg kick lands there from Enthamowth.

Enthamowth shoots in and bounces Rasta off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rasta looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Rasta has a closed guard, preventing Enthamowth from standing up.
Enthamowth slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Enthamowth wants to control from the top but Rasta keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rasta pulls Enthamowth in close to prevent any damage.

Enthamowth must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rasta shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Enthamowth counters with a takedown into side control.
Enthamowth tries to advance to mount but Rasta denies him.
Rasta manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Enthamowth is trying to get back to full guard.
Enthamowth keeping hold of Rasta's head, controlling as best he can.
Enthamowth wants to get back to full guard.
Enthamowth is trying to maintain the position but Rasta is very close to passing his half guard.
Enthamowth pushes Rasta off looking to stand but Rasta dives back in and keeps control.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Enthamowth closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Enthamowth lands in his opponent's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Enthamowth perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Enthamowth is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rasta defends it well.
Rasta is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Enthamowth tries to bum rush Rasta with a series of wild strikes but Rasta uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Enthamowth counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Enthamowth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

and Enthamowth counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rasta's guard now.

Enthamowth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rasta swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rasta is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bustin Enthamowth comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Enthamowth has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
