Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Montana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ernesto Guevara! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guevara throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Guevara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Montana moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Guevara misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Guevara throws a right and a left that Montana avoids nicely. Guevara throws a combination. Montana tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Montana is trying hard to land a takedown here. Guevara sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Montana shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Montana throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Guevara was covering up waiting for the punch and Montana finishes the takedown easily into guard. Montana slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Guevara keeping moving, preventing Montana from controlling successfully. Montana throwing strikes but missing. Guevara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Montana. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Guevara manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Montana manages to get himself to full guard.
Montana has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montana is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Montana manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Montana closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Guevara did well to prevent Montana getting side control. Guevara looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Montana content to control rather than advance. Montana working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Guevara wants to control but Montana is keeping busy.
Guevara looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montana in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Guevara tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Montana!
