Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pit Jonson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Silent Killer! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jonson misses with a takedown attempt - Killer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jonson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Killer wants to get back to his feet.
Killer is trying to control but can't.
Jonson is controlling the pace.
Jonson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Killer has a hand on Jonson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Jonson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Jonson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Jonson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Killer for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jonson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Killer really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Pit Jonson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Killer has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Killer scores with a nice hook to the head. Killer is pressed up against the cage. Jonson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Killer down to the mat. Killer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Jab by Killer. Killer scores with a jab to the head.
Killer lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Killer lunges at Jonson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jonson's hand. Jonson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Jonson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jonson slips nicely into half guard. Jonson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Killer trying to control but Jonson postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Killer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jonson sitting and controlling from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pit Jonson. Killer scores with a punch to the head. Killer throws a one two combo.
Nice body punch from Killer. Killer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Jonson is breathing heavily. Jonson drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jonson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Killer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jonson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Killer can do anything to dispel that myth. Killer trying to control the position.
Killer wants to stand but Jonson is controlling the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Killer wants to sweep here but Jonson controlling him for the moment. Jonson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pit Jonson will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jonson fails with a takedown attempt. Killer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Killer wants it to stay on the feet. Killer connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Killer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jonson on the side of the head.
Jonson is rocked! A big right from Killer misses. Oh Jonson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jonson ducks under a wild hook from Killer. A big right from Killer misses. Jonson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Killer. Pit Jonson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Killer throws a hook but Jonson blocks it. Jonson moves away from the strike by Killer. Jonson seems to have got his legs back now. Jonson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Killer sprawls well. Killer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jonson gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pit Jonson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Killer drops Jonson with a naaaaasty hook - Jonson is in real trouble here! Killer dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Silent Killer!
