Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Zerka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Eagen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zerka comes into the arena with mc circulaire blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eagen misses with a double jab.
Eagen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
No joy there for Eagen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zerka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eagen's guard.
Eagen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Zerka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Zerka trying to control the position from guard on top but Eagen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Eagen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zerka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zerka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Eagen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Zerka stands and throws Eagen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Zerka wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Eagen, who protects the arm well.
Eagen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zerka wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Zerka stands up and beckons Eagen to his feet.

Zerka looks for a takedown but Eagen sprawls well.
Eagen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Zerka has hold of Eagen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Eagen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Zerka jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Eagen manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Eagen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Zerka seems to be working for a kimura but Eagen defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eagen is refusing to be controlled, as Zerka sits in half guard.

Zerka is looking for a kimura but Eagen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zerka to get the leverage.
Zerka decides to stand up.
Eagen stalks Zerka and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Zerka's face. Zerka staggers backwards, shaken.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Eagen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Zerka's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Eagen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Zerka scrambles back to his feet.
Zerka fails with the takedown.
Zerka is breathing heavily.
Eagen misses with the combination.
Zerka misses with a wild combination.
Eagen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A right-left combo lands from Eagen.
CJ Eagen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zerka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Eagen pinned against the cage. Eagen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicolas Zerka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Eagen throws a series of punches but Zerka avoids them all with ease.
A lazy left from Zerka finds it's target.

and Zerka counters with a thumping low kick.

and Zerka counters with a stiff right hand.

and Zerka counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Zerka.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zerka wants to control from the top but Eagen keeps moving.
Zerka decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Eagen, up you get!
Eagen looks to throw a body kick
and Zerka counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Zerka prevents Eagen from improving his position.
Zerka is trying for a kimura here. Eagen looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Zerka wins by kimura!
