Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bitea Catalin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rob Smith looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bitea Catalin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Smith! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Smith enables Catalin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Smith manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Smith keeping moving, preventing Catalin from controlling successfully. Smith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Catalin stands up and waves to Smith to follow him. Catalin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Smith moves into the clinch. Catalin wants a takedown.
Catalin is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now.
Smith manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Smith is adopting a defensive guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Catalin advances to half guard. Smith blocking the ground and pound attempt from Catalin. Catalin is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer. Smith tries to roll over but Catalin keeps him under control. Smith regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Catalin.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Catalin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now. Smith wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Catalin wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Smith wants to sweep here but Catalin controlling him for the moment. Smith keeping moving, preventing Catalin from controlling successfully. Catalin is breathing heavily.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith has control of Catalin's left arm, preventing Catalin from doing any damage.
 The ref stands the fighters back up. Bitea Catalin wasn't doing enough on the ground. Catalin has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bitea Catalin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Rob Smith dominated that round. That's time! Catalin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Smith fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Catalin on the side of the head. Catalin misses with a low kick.
Bitea Catalin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Catalin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A decent looking cross lands there for Catalin. Catalin misses with a takedown attempt
and Smith counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Catalin! Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Smith lands a big elbow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Smith cracks Catalin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Catalin taking shots to the head. Catalin is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action. A nice elbow there by Smith. Smith controlling from the full mount.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Catalin is desperately trying to improve his position but Smith has a good base and remains in mount. Smith lands a big shot there that rocks Catalin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
A nice elbow there by Smith. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith controlling the position easily from mount. Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith looking to finish Catalin with some ground and pound. This is bad for Catalin!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The referee warns Catalin that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Smith with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Catalin is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Rob Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A head kick misses from Smith.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Catalin. Catalin in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Smith is trying to control Catalin's posture but Catalin avoids it. Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Catalin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Smith is not content to let Catalin control the position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Smith manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Smith controlling the pace. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
 The ref stands the fighters back up. Rob Smith was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Smith closes the distance and pushes Catalin back into the cage.
Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Catalin pushes him off.
Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Catalin's guard. Catalin working a defensive guard here.
Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Smith gets to his feet - Catalin follows without any prompting.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Catalin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Smith decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Bitea Catalin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Catalin misses with a takedown attempt
and Smith counters by clinching up.
Smith pulls guard successfully.
Catalin trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith trying to keep a closed guard but Catalin is proving a slippery customer.
Smith lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Catalin! A nice elbow there by Smith. Bitea Catalin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rob Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! Rob Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
