Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Castle Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rock's choice of entrance music: The Rogue from Scotland . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock throws a good cross that connects.

Rock wants to sweep here but Mendes controlling him for the moment.
Mendes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rock swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mendes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rock's waist but Rock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mendes off to one side.

Mendes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rock pinned against the cage. Rock gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mendes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mendes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rock is aware though and is defending well.

Mendes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rock wants to get up but he can't break Mendes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
