Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kirill Stein! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Achmedov! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Achmedov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stein.
Achmedov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fight stays on the outside here - Achmedov looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Achmedov fails in his attempt to clinch. Achmedov looks for the body kick but Stein saw that one coming. Stein avoids the head kick by Achmedov.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Achmedov moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Ruslan Achmedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Achmedov throws a sloppy head kick and Stein moves out of range easily. Achmedov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stein paws at him with a jab and circles away. Achmedov moves in looking to clinch but Stein pushes him off. A momentary lapse in concentration from Achmedov enables Stein to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Achmedov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Stein is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Achmedov is wriggling around but Stein manages to pass to half guard.
Stein has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Achmedov squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Stein is standing up, even though he is in mount. Stein closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stein lands in his opponent's guard. Stein stands and steps away. Achmedov gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Achmedov is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stein decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Achmedov is trying to stand back up but Stein is controlling him
Stein decides to return to a standing position. Stein closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stein lands in his opponent's guard. Stein could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Stein would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stein might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Achmedov is working an open guard so Stein takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Stein shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Achmedov wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Achmedov throws a push kick but Stein slaps the foot to one side. Stein drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stein decides to take the fight back to the feet. Kirill Stein is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stein bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Achmedov is breathing heavily. Stein looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Stein knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Achmedov on the ground.

Stein tries to stand but Achmedov is controlling from the bottom. Achmedov is looking to stand back up but Stein counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Achmedov.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stein gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Stein shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Stein decides to stand up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stein scores with a takedown into Achmedov's guard. Achmedov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stein. Stein has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Achmedov is proving hard to escape from. Stein stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Achmedov wants to clinch and Stein counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Achmedov! Stein is landing with some decent strikes but Achmedov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Stein with shots to the head and body - Achmedov looks very uncomfortable down there. BOOM! Stein connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Stein sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stein unloading with bombs! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ruslan Achmedov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Stein misses with a hook. Achmedov ducked under it nicely. Achmedov throws a head kick that misses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! It looks like Stein is going to stand back up.

Stein seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Achmedov for as long as he can get away with. Stein decides to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stein closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Achmedov quickly recovers to half guard. Achmedov is trying to stand.
Stein tries to pass the half guard into mount. Achmedov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Stein takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Stein seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Stein is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Achmedov sees it coming and defends easily. Ruslan Achmedov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kirill Stein is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Well, if Stein is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that's the end of the fight! Kirill Stein showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stein, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
