Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Manoel Candelabro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karim Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Candelabro comes to the cage accompanied by Perfect. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manoel Candelabro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karim Mousasi! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Candelabro shoots for a double leg takedown but Mousasi sprawls well. He's pushed Candelabro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Candelabro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mousasi circles away. Mousasi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Candelabro tries to get to full guard but Mousasi has control of the leg. Mousasi with the ground and pound but Candelabro uses the opportunity to regain guard. Candelabro has a closed guard, preventing Mousasi from standing up. Mousasi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Candelabro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mousasi scores with a three punch combo!
Mousasi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Candelabro was covering up waiting for the punch and Mousasi finishes the takedown easily into guard. Candelabro working for a triangle but Mousasi defends it easily.
Mousasi wants to get up but he can't break Candelabro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mousasi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Candelabro is working an open guard so Mousasi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Candelabro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mousasi paws at him with a jab and circles away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mousasi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mousasi misses with a head kick.

Mousasi throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Candelabro blocks it with crossed arms. Mousasi tries to land a knee to the head but Candelabro blocks with his arms.
Candelabro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mousasi circles away from the clinch attempt and Mousasi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mousasi. Candelabro scores with a nice shot. Mousasi with a flurry of punches that miss. Mousasi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Candelabro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Candelabro working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Candelabro escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Candelabro shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Candelabro misses with a takedown and Mousasi counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Mousasi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Candelabro lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A head kick from Mousasi lands but Candelabro takes it in his stride. Mousasi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Candelabro.

Mousasi has Candelabro pressed against the cage, preventing Candelabro from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Mousasi pushes Candelabro back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Mousasi lands a takedown into guard.

Candelabro tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mousasi just stands there and leans against the cage. Candelabro wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mousasi throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Candelabro blocks it with crossed arms. Candelabro working some nice short punches in the clinch. Candelabro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mousasi smiles and moves away.
Candelabro tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mousasi was well out of range. Poor timing from Candelabro. Mousasi gets a clinch. Mousasi tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Candelabro avoids it. Candelabro is trying to break the clinch but Mousasi is controlling him. Mousasi misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Candelabro.
Candelabro tries for a takedown but Mousasi manages to get underhooks.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Candelabro drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Karim Mousasi dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Candelabro misses with a takedown attempt and Mousasi counters with a single leg into guard. Candelabro didn't expect that. Candelabro utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mousasi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Candelabro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Candelabro has momentary wrist control but Mousasi slips an elbow through the middle. Mousasi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A punch combination from Candelabro misses. Candelabro gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Candelabro striking off his back but it's not causing Mousasi any problems. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mousasi's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Mousasi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mousasi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Candelabro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Candelabro is nestled in close to Mousasi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. It looks like Candelabro is going to stand back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Candelabro is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Candelabro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mousasi is defending against the submission attempts here by Candelabro.

Mousasi pushes Candelabro off and gets back to his feet. Candelabro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mousasi counters by moving into the clinch. Mousasi tries a knee to the head but Candelabro blocks it.
