Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Samurai Moonwalker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jin Kim! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim has his takedown stuffed enabling Moonwalker to counter with a crisp jab. Moonwalker misses with a wild combination.
Left hook, right uppercut from Moonwalker. Kim is trying hard to land a takedown here. Moonwalker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Moonwalker lands a glancing blow to the side of Kim's head. Nice shot by Moonwalker. Moonwalker shoots in and gets a takedown into Kim's guard. Moonwalker working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Moonwalker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kim swivels though and keeps the full guard. Moonwalker passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moonwalker goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kim rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Moonwalker's guard! Nice work there by Kim! Kim working some strikes from top position. Kim works a leg free and moves into half guard. Moonwalker is trying to stand back up but Kim is controlling him
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim with the ground and pound but Moonwalker uses the opportunity to regain guard. Moonwalker tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kim seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kim must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Moonwalker keeping moving, preventing Kim from controlling successfully. Moonwalker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Moonwalker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moonwalker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kim is controlling him. Kim scoring with some ground and pound. Kim postures up in Moonwalker's guard and throws a big left but Moonwalker blocks it. Moonwalker keeping full guard, as Kim tries to pass. Kim lands a couple of digs. Kim is in close to Moonwalker's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kim looking to pass the guard. Kim throws a sloppy strike and Moonwalker has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Kim is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Moonwalker!
