Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ashe Corven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corven's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Escape. Brock Lesnar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ashe Corven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brock Lesnar !
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar with a lazy takedown attempt

and Corven counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Lesnar can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Corven controls the pace.
Corven makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Corven wants to control from the top but Lesnar keeps moving.

Corven drops back looking for a leg! Lesnar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lesnar manages to kick Corven off! Corven jumps back into Lesnar 's guard.

Corven drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lesnar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Corven has Lesnar in his guard.
Lesnar wants to control from the top but Corven keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Corven holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lesnar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lesnar wants to control but Corven is keeping him busy.

You can see the frustration on Corven's face as Lesnar controls the position.
Corven is trying to control Lesnar 's posture but Lesnar avoids it.
Lesnar tries to move to full mount but Corven actually manages to regain half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ashe Corven dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lesnar has his takedown stuffed

and Corven counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Corven is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corven is working for a submission of some sort.
Corven is looking to advance position but Lesnar won't allow it.

Lesnar makes his way to full guard, as Corven worked for a kimura.
Corven wants to control from the top but Lesnar keeps moving.

Corven decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lesnar , up you get!

Lesnar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Corven!

Lesnar trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Lesnar controlling the pace for now.

Lesnar tries to control but Corven wriggling away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brock Lesnar was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Corven throws a body punch but Lesnar moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ashe Corven dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Lesnar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Corven counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lesnar 's guard now.
Lesnar seems keen to control Corven's posture.

Corven drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Corven jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Corven is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brock Lesnar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Corven throws a poor cross that misses

and Lesnar counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Well, if Lesnar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Corven looking for submissions off his back.
Ashe Corven overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Corven manages to get to full guard.
Lesnar trying to control the position from guard on top but Corven is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Brock Lesnar has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Corven gets caught flat footed, as Lesnar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Corven is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lesnar is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ashe Corven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ashe Corven.
Well Corven has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
