Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caiu Fudeu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Hebert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Caiu Fudeu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Hebert!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fudeu is looking to break free of the clinch but Hebert has double underhooks.
Hebert putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Fudeu in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Hebert comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Hebert connects with a nasty looking knee right to Fudeu's face.
Fudeu has Hebert pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hebert manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Fudeu is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hebert gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hebert works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Fudeu has his foot on Hebert's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hebert works his way back into a safe position though.
Fudeu is breathing heavily.
Hebert is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Hebert must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

I looks like Hebert might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sam Hebert wasn't active enough on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hebert is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Fudeu takes a knee to the side of the body.

Hebert has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Fudeu is trying to keep an underhook but Hebert manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hebert gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Fudeu regains guard.
Hebert seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Hebert gets to his feet - Fudeu follows without any prompting.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hebert thumps Fudeu with a low kick.

Hebert darts in and clinches Fudeu up against the cage.

Hebert has picked Fudeu up - he's going for a ride! Hebert dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hebert throws a head kick that Fudeu semi-blocks.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Hebert obliges.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Hebert throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fudeu tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hebert is in Fudeu's guard.

Hebert decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fudeu, up you get!
Caiu Fudeu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sam Hebert hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like Caiu Fudeu has been cut.

Hebert is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hebert's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Sam Hebert has got the better of the ground game so far.

Fudeu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hebert gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hebert slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hebert is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hebert gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fudeu changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hebert fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Hebert has Fudeu pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hebert pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Fudeu tumbling to the mat - Hebert dives into Fudeu's guard.
Fudeu is looking to stand up but Hebert isn't so interested in that idea.
Hebert not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hebert shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hebert was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fudeu wants to control but Hebert is having none of it.
Hebert tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Let's hope that Hebert has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Hebert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
