And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pedricio Warum!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Watanabe could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Watanabe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Watanabe working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Warum has passed into half guard!
Warum wants to stand up but Watanabe is controlling the position.

Warum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Warum throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Warum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Watanabe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Watanabe lands in his opponent's guard.

Watanabe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Warum is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Warum has escaped and now he's on top!

Watanabe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Warum defends it easily.
Watanabe has momentary wrist control but Warum slips an elbow through the middle.

Warum postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Watanabe to stand up.

Warum pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Warum tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Watanabe avoids the head kick by Warum.
Pedricio Warum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warum ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Warum doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Watanabe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Warum won't be happy with that.
Warum tries to escape but Watanabe is in control.

Watanabe goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Warum has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Watanabe but great work by Warum.

Watanabe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Watanabe tries to get out of the position.

Watanabe takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Watanabe is trying to get back to half guard.
Pedricio Warum has got the better of the ground game so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Warum stands up.

Watanabe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Watanabe goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Warum has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Watanabe but great work by Warum.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Watanabe goes for a takedown in the clinch but Warum prevents it.
Warum is looking to control Watanabe's arms but Watanabe gets an underhook and turns him. Now Warum has his back to the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Warum just misses with a elbow thrown towards Watanabe's brow.

Warum has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Watanabe clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Warum is punishing Watanabe with strikes - can he finish him?!
Warum is trying to stick to Watanabe's back but Watanabe is turning into Warum. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Warum's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Watanabe.

Watanabe drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Warum dives on top into guard.

Watanabe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Warum can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Watanabe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Watanabe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Warum is aware though and is defending well.

Warum gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Warum throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Watanabe tries for a takedown but Warum circles away easily
and Watanabe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Warum is looking to clinch but Watanabe is avoiding it.

Warum throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Jun Watanabe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Warum throws a right and a left that Watanabe avoids nicely.

Warum jumps guard and drags Watanabe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Warum is looking to sinch up a triangle. Watanabe throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Warum's body to avoid the submission. Warum has instead reached around Watanabe's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Warum arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
