Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rocky Balboa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Melikhov! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melikhov throws a hook but Balboa blocks it. Balboa connects with a jab. Balboa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Balboa not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balboa thows a huge punch but Melikhov dodges it nicely.
Balboa is controlling the pace.

Balboa landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Balboa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Balboa slips a nice elbow through Melikhov's hands, connecting with Melikhov's forehead. Melikhov taking some punishment here, with Balboa in his half guard. Balboa lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Melikhov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Balboa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Balboa lands strikes from half guard. Balboa has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Melikhov defend it? Balboa steps over the head and cranks it - Melikhov is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Balboa!
