The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mota keeps the fight on the outside.
Painija misses with a takedown attempt - Mota sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Painija misses with a jab, cross combination.
Painija paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Rolando Mota has been cut.
Mota fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Painija cracks Mota with a good jab.
Mota swats away the attempt to clinch by Painija.
Mota takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Painija closes the distance and pushes Mota back into the cage.

Painija jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Mota doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Painija counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mota won't be happy with that.

Painija lands a strong strike to the head of Mota. That's dazed him! Painija looking to finish here. Mota is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Painija lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
