Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Waber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Smith!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Waber drops Smith with a right and a left! Waber comes rushing in but Smith regains his composure and manages to keep Waber in guard.


Smith is rocked!


It looks like Kevin Smith has been cut.
Waber throwing strikes but missing.
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Waber finish him?
Waber preventing the sweep.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.
Waber trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Smith has momentary wrist control but Waber slips an elbow through the middle.
Waber with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Smith wants to sweep here but Waber controlling him for the moment.

Smith seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Smith trying to keep a closed guard but Waber is proving a slippery customer.
Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Waber is controlling him.
Waber postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Waber loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Waber distracts Smith with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Waber gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Waber really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Waber throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Waber bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Smith looks gassed!
Waber lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Smith down.
Smith is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Waber connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Smith some visible discomfort.

Smith trying to control but Waber flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Waber is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Smith up.

Waber has Smith flattened out and is raining down punches.

Waber lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Smith covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Smith tries to escape the position.
Waber lands punches and elbows.

Smith can't escape the position.

Waber is looking for the choke from the back position but Smith is controlling his hands well.
You can see the frustration on Smith's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Smith rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Well, if Waber is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Smith is trying to stand back up but Waber is controlling him
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ground and pound from Waber.
Smith trying to control but Waber postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Waber looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Waber takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Waber shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Smith has closed the distance and engaged Waber in a clinch.

Smith has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Waber regains guard immediately.
Ethan Waber overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Smith working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Waber's head.
Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Waber looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Waber is working an open guard so Smith takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Waber keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Smith lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Waber backs up against the cage.

Waber shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Waber keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Smith's head.
Smith has momentary wrist control but Waber slips an elbow through the middle.

Waber is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Waber slips nicely into half guard.
Waber trying to pass the guard but Smith defending well.

Waber stands up from half guard.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
Smith tries for a takedown but Waber sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ethan Waber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Smith.

Smith dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Waber. That did some damage!
Waber shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Waber circles away.

Smith shoots in and bounces Waber off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Waber throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Waber looking for subs off his back but Smith has passed one foot through into half guard.
Waber wants to control but Smith is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Smith is looking to take a break and control but Waber is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smith lands a nice short elbow.
Smith is trying to control. Waber wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Waber closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.

Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Waber is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Smith is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Waber wants to control but Smith is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Waber slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Smith postures up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Waber lands a decent punch to the body there.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Waber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Waber gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Waber working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Smith has his foot on Waber's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Waber works his way back into a safe position though.
Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Waber wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Smith.
Smith blocks Waber's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Waber really wants to buck Smith off and get back to his feet.
Smith wants to control the pace but Waber is squirming around nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Smith punching from mount but Waber doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Waber sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Waber kicks off Smith and gets to his feet.
Ethan Waber is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Waber fails with the takedown
and Smith counters with a left and a right that stings Waber.
Waber circles away from the clinch attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kevin Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
