PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between T Dawg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl The Crusher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). T Dawg had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, T Dawg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Carl The Crusher!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Dawg misses its intended target.
The Crusher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dawg tries to avoid it but The Crusher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dawg to the ground. Dawg escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
T Dawg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dawg takes a swing at The Crusher's ribcage but misses.
Dawg rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but The Crusher moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dawg fakes high and swings low for a body shot but The Crusher manages to avoid it.
The Crusher looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dawg cracks The Crusher with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The Crusher stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dawg swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dawg has momentary wrist control but The Crusher slips an elbow through the middle.
The Crusher sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dawg's guard.

The Crusher seems to be working for a kimura but Dawg defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Carl The Crusher hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The Crusher shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The Crusher is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dawg has escaped the position, nice work there.
Dawg takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

The Crusher postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Dawg is letting The Crusher control him for a moment.

The Crusher looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Dawg is bucking up trying to escape but The Crusher cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The Crusher is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dawg can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The Crusher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Carl The Crusher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Dawg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Carl The Crusher.
Dawg stuffs the takedown attempt from The Crusher. The Crusher gets slowly back to his feet.

The Crusher changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dawg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The Crusher connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dawg some visible discomfort.

The Crusher tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no The Crusher has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The Crusher is looking to take a break and control but Dawg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The Crusher works to advance to full mount. Dawg defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The Crusher wants to finish this one by submission but Dawg is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from The Crusher.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The Crusher is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The Crusher cracks Dawg with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The Crusher throws some wild stikes that Dawg manages to avoid easily.

Carl The Crusher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well The Crusher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
