Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Teppo Tuhoaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Polk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tuhoaja throws a predictable looking body shot
and Polk counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Polk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Tuhoaja working for a triangle but Polk defends it easily.
Polk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Tuhoaja working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Polk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Polk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

and Polk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tuhoaja is breathing heavily.
Polk swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tuhoaja ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Polk moves away.
Tuhoaja looks to land a right hand but Polk moved out of range.
Tuhoaja's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Polk connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tuhoaja scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Polk lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Tuhoaja is rocked!
Polk is stalking Tuhoaja. Tuhoaja circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Polk, and it's lights out! Tuhoaja really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
