Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between QL Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Swift (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, QL Hicks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Swift! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hicks with a hook. Hicks looks to score with a jab to the body but Swift is just out of range. Hicks throws a left and a right that both miss
and Swift counters with a nice double leg into guard. Hicks controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swift wants to stand but Hicks has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Hicks tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hicks manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hicks lands a heavy elbow. Swift is desperately trying to improve his position but Hicks has a good base and remains in mount. Swift is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Swift is trying desperately to improve position. Hicks scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks blocks Swift's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Swift throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Swift flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Swift is in all sorts of trouble here.
Swift wants to hold on but Hicks pushes him away. Swift wants to get back to his feet.
Hicks tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Swift is bucking up trying to escape but Hicks cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Swift is trying desperately to improve position. Hicks trying to control but he's not successful this time. Swift is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Hicks raining down shots from the mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. A nice elbow there by Hicks. Swift swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Swift wants to control but Hicks is having none of it. Hicks is in the full mount, landing strikes. Hicks landing strikes, looking to finish! Hicks in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

BOOM! Hicks connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hicks lands a nice shot to the head. Hicks can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Swift is looking to escape. Hicks scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Swift?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Swift is in all sorts of trouble here.

so Swift counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Swift wants to get up but he can't break Hicks's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Hicks manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Swift manages to get himself to full guard.
Swift wants to sweep but no luck. Swift throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hicks working some strikes from top position. Swift is breathing heavily. Swift has momentary wrist control but Hicks slips an elbow through the middle. Hicks is working Swift over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hicks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swift is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hicks distracts Swift with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hicks working some strikes from top position. Hicks sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Swift's guard. Hicks working over Swift with some ground and pound. Swift looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Hicks works his way into full mount! Hicks with shots to the head and body - Swift looks very uncomfortable down there. Swift's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Hicks lands a big elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hicks lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hicks lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hicks goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Swift turns into him and now he's in Hicks's guard.
Swift stands up from guard. Let's bang! Swift tries to clinch there but Hicks circles away.
Swift closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hicks circles away. Swift darts in trying to clinch and Hicks makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Hicks swings for the body but Swift moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hicks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Swift but Swift pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hicks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Swift moves away. Hicks misses with a jab, cross combination.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Swift. Jack Swift is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hicks misses with a shot to the body and Swift counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Swift tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Hicks. Hicks is looking for a sweep. Swift is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Swift is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Hicks manages to get to full guard. Hicks has a closed guard, preventing Swift from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
QL Hicks dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Hicks misses with an uppercut
and Swift counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Swift wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Hicks uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Swift wanted to stand there but Hicks had control of the position. Hicks wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Swift wants to stand but Hicks has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Swift stands up from Hicks's guard - Swift perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks throws a series of punches but Swift moves out of range. Hicks stuffs the takedown attempt from Swift. Swift gets slowly back to his feet. Hicks throws a combination that misses and Swift counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Swift wanted to stand there but Hicks had control of the position. QL Hicks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hicks is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hicks wants to sweep but no luck. Swift gets to his feet - Hicks follows without any prompting. Hicks lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Hicks doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Swift tries to clinch and Hicks counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Swift thinking. Swift tries to clinch there but Hicks circles away.
Swift throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hicks's head. Hicks misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Swift connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Swift uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hicks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Hicks. Swift does a little dance to reset his feet. Hicks misses with a lunging right hand
and Swift counters by moving into the clinch. Swift gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hicks.

Hicks tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Swift's elbow. Hicks drops down looking for an ankle pick but Swift pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Swift decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hicks's guard. Swift wants to get up but he can't break Hicks's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Hicks is adopting a defensive guard. Swift tries to stand but Hicks is controlling from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hicks looking to control but Swift passes into half guard.
