Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rockford Steady! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brozc Panicaci! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steady tries to sprawl but Panicaci drives through with a takedown into half guard. Steady on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Steady has hold of Panicaci's hands but Panicaci slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Panicaci scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Panicaci not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Steady trying to control here.
Steady tries to roll over but Panicaci keeps him under control. Panicaci thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Steady's head. Panicaci winds up and cracks Steady with a swinging punch to the side of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Panicaci is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Panicaci seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's one minute gone in the round. Panicaci is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Panicaci looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steady with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Panicaci is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Panicaci is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Panicaci working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Panicaci takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Steady is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Panicaci lands strikes from half guard. Panicaci working Steady over with strikes. Panicaci working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Panicaci lands a nice short elbow. Steady taking some punishment here, with Panicaci in his half guard. Panicaci maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Steady could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Panicaci has cracked it and Steady is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Panicaci!
